Welcome to Achieving Sustainability, we are now live on the world wide web! My goal for this blog is to have a more successful website launch than Healthcare.gov. This I will do principally by lowering expectations and getting off to a nice, soft rolling start. I hope that this will compensate for my inexperience both in website management and blogging. Due to these deficiencies I would like to take a moment here to solicit ideas, suggestions, comments and even complaints. on content, design or anything else which could make Achieving Sustainability better. Trolls need not respond1)Dissing trolls appears to be a requirement on the internet. So far I have concluded that this does not refer to a dislike of the Warcraft character. When I learn more about the nature of these much reviled internet trolls I will be sure to get back to you.
Why you should join the Achieving Sustainability community
The future is not predetermined but if one just stands passively by the future will happen to them anyway. Sustainability (as I discuss over here) is really about coming together to discuss what our future looks like and how we can make it happen within the limits of our planet. Fundamentally that is exactly what this blog is about: What do we hope for? How can we achieve it. Through the blog posts I hope to share information, resources and ideas, but more importantly I hope to stimulate a discussion among and between academics and society. If you check out the About section I further discuss the goals of this website and some of the aspects I hope will be fundamental to its content.
You can stay update to date with the latest content from Achieving Sustainability by signing up via email (check the sidebar on the right), following me on twitter or liking our Facebook page, but unless you LOVE Achieving Sustainability I am not sure that you want to do all three 🙂
